Our Approach
Roots in Vinyls, Heart in Every Room
Dave Gianni started spinning records in Hartford clubs decades ago. Back then, reading a room was everything — no algorithms, no auto-mix. That instinct is still the foundation of every A&B event today. We know when to drop the energy, when to pull it back, and when to hit the moment that makes everyone look up from their phones and get on the floor.
Modern technology makes us sound better. Experience makes us irreplaceable.

Multi-Genre Mastery
We don't DJ in one lane. From vinyls to digital, from big band to EDM, we blend genres seamlessly to keep every guest engaged throughout the night.
The A&B Standard
How We Show Up
Decades on the dance floor have given us strong opinions. Here's exactly what you'll always get from A&B — and what you'll never have to worry about.
We Always
- Use our extensive experience in utilizing fun, but classy techniques to get your crowd on the dance floor.
- Interact with your guests right from cocktail hour — we introduce ourselves to make everyone feel comfortable.
- Take you and your guests to the highest level of enjoyment possible by reading your crowd.
- Play instant requests when suitable and make appropriate announcements when applicable.
- Provide a standard lighting package that lights up your dance floor — upbeat, but never offensive.
- Wear a professional black buttoned-down tux with a black bow tie.
- Work directly with you on planning and customizing your special day.
- Return all phone calls and emails within 24 hours.
We Never
- Get pushy with guests who may be uncomfortable with dancing or not open to DJ antics.
- Work with props like blow-up instruments, glow sticks, Hawaiian leis, "Tom Cruise" sunglasses, or other gimmicky devices.
- Lead your group in outdated line dances or take over the event by conducting "dance classes" at your wedding reception.
- Try to be the center of attention with endless chatter or unnecessary announcements.
- Wear brightly colored or shiny attire that draws attention to ourselves.
- Display banners, signs, or put our business cards on your guests' tables — your wedding is not our marketing event.
